Can you use Suica on OPPO A79 5G?
We could not confirm from a primary source whether the OPPO A79 5G can hold a Japanese IC card, so this page will not tell you that it can. Plan for a physical card and treat anything else as a bonus.
How to be sure
We could not confirm this handset against the Osaifu-Keitai compatible list, and models with near-identical names differ on FeliCa fitment, so we will not tell you it works. Open the phone’s app drawer and look for the Osaifu-Keitai app: if it is not there, the phone cannot hold a Suica.
How to settle it yourself
Open the app drawer and look for an app called Osaifu-Keitai (おサイフケータイ). If it is preinstalled, the handset has the FeliCa element and Google Wallet will offer Suica. If it is missing, no download will add it — the app ships with the hardware or not at all. The manufacturer’s Japanese product page lists おサイフケータイ under the specifications when the model supports it.
Plan for the answer being no
Because we could not confirm it, plan your arrival around a plastic card and treat a working phone as a bonus. A Welcome Suica or Tourist PASMO at the airport costs nothing to hold for a trip of 28 days or less; an ordinary Suica or PASMO from a station machine works for any length of stay. If the phone turns out to work, you have lost a 500 yen deposit at worst.
What a Suica actually pays for
Trains and buses across the ten mutually accepted IC card networks, plus convenience stores, vending machines, station kiosks, coin lockers and a growing number of taxis. It is a prepaid balance capped at 20,000 yen, so it will not cover a hotel deposit, a car hire or a reserved Shinkansen seat bought at a machine.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Suica on a OPPO A79 5G?
We cannot confirm it, so treat the answer as no and plan for a physical card. If it turns out to work, nothing is lost.
Does a OPPO A79 5G bought outside Japan work with Suica?
Almost certainly not. Even where a Japanese-market OPPO A79 5G exists, the version sold in other countries leaves FeliCa out. Since we could not confirm the Japanese model either, treat an imported unit as unsupported.
Which IC cards can a OPPO A79 5G hold?
We do not know, and we will not guess. If the Osaifu-Keitai app is on the phone it can hold Suica, PASMO and ICOCA like any other Japanese-market handset; if it is not, it can hold none of them.
What happens at the gate if my OPPO A79 5G runs out of battery?
Recent devices keep the transit card alive for a few hours in power reserve after shutdown, but a fully flat battery is a card you cannot use. Carry enough cash for a paper ticket.
